This is one of the most-awaited government job notifications of the year. The SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026 is a national-level exam that attracts over 25 lakh candidates annually. Age Relaxation (Upper Age Limit)

Note: Age relaxation is applicable as per government of India rules. The date of birth as recorded in the Class 10 / Matriculation certificate will be accepted as proof. No subsequent alteration will be permitted.

Nationality / Citizenship

A candidate must be one of the following:

  1. A citizen of India
  2. A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  3. A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India

Educational Qualification

  • Note: Final year / semester students are also eligible to apply. However, proof of passing the qualifying degree will be required at the time of document verification.
  • Only male candidates are eligible for vacancies, if any, reported in the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), as per the official notification.

Selection Process

The selection process for SSC CGL 2026 consists of the following stages:

  • Tier 1 — Computer-Based Test (Qualifying Stage)
  • Tier 2 — Computer-Based Test (Merit-Based, Main Stage)
  • Skill Test / Typing Test (for specific posts only; qualifying in nature)
  • Document Verification (for shortlisted candidates after Tier 2)

Important: There is no interview in SSC CGL. Selection is based entirely on marks scored in the Tier 2 examination. Tier 1 is qualifying; it is used only to shortlist candidates for Tier 2. 1) Visit the official SSC website: https://ssc.gov.in
2) If you are a new user, complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process first:

  • Click on “Login / Sign Up” on the homepage
  • Provide your Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, and Date of Birth
  • Enter your Class 10 examination details (Roll Number, Passing Year, Board Name)
  • Provide your Aadhaar Number for Aadhaar-based authentication
  • Complete registration and note your Registration ID and Password

3) Log in to the SSC portal using your OTR Registration ID and Password
4) Click on the SSC CGL 2026 Apply Online link
5) Fill in the application form carefully — personal details, educational qualifications, address, category, and post preferences
6) Upload required documents:

  • Recent passport-size photograph (as per specified dimensions and file size)
