RRB JE Recruitment 2026 — 4,029 Vacancies, Apply Online by 13 September
The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, have officially released the RRB JE/DMS/CMA Recruitment 2026 notification (CEN No. 04/2026) on 13 August 2026, revised by Corrigendum-1 on 18 August 2026 which added the Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) post.
A total of 4,029 vacancies have been announced for Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant posts across 21 Railway Recruitment Boards. Eligible candidates can apply online from 14 August 2026 to 13 September 2026 through the official portal rrbapply.gov.in.

A candidate must be one of the following:
- A citizen of India
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries with the intention of permanently settling in India
Educational Qualification
Post — Required Qualification
- Junior Engineer & DMS — 3-year Diploma in Engineering (or equivalent B.E./B.Tech) in the discipline mapped to the post’s Exam Group: Mechanical & Allied, Electrical & Allied, Electronics & Allied, or Civil & Allied Engineering. DMS candidates require a 3-year Diploma in Engineering in any discipline.
- Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) — B.Sc. degree with Physics and Chemistry (minimum 45% marks) in a recognised combination, from a recognised University/Institute.
- Candidates awaiting final results of the prescribed qualification are not eligible to apply. Qualifications must be held on or before the closing date, 13 September 2026.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of the following stages:
- CBT-I — 1st Stage Computer-Based Test (Common, Screening Stage)
- CBT-II — 2nd Stage Computer-Based Test (Discipline/Post-Specific)
- Document Verification — For shortlisted candidates based on CBT-II merit
- Medical Examination — As per prescribed Medical Standard applicable to the post

2) Log in and select CEN No. 04/2026 (JE/DMS/CMA)
3) Choose one RRB only and enter zone/post preferences in order — this choice is final
4) Fill in personal, educational, and category details carefully
5) Complete live photo capture as per prescribed guidelines; upload signature (JPG/JPEG, 30–49 KB)
6) Upload SC/ST certificate (PDF, under 400 KB) if opting for free train travel facility
7) Pay the applicable examination fee online (Net Banking / Debit-Credit Card / UPI)
8) Submit the application and note your Registration Number
9) Use the modification window (16–25 September 2026) if corrections are needed, on payment of ₹250 per modification
