Bank of Baroda LBO Recruitment 2026 — 2,482 Vacancies, Apply Online by 7 September
Bank of Baroda (BOB), a public sector bank owned by the Government of India, has officially released the Local Bank Officer (LBO) Recruitment 2026 notification under Advertisement No. BOB/HRM/REC/ADVT/2026/16, dated 18 August 2026, on its official careers portal, bankofbaroda.bank.in. A total of 2,482 vacancies have been announced for the post of Local Bank Officer in the Junior Management Grade/Scale-I (JMG/S-I), spread across 20 states and union territories of India. Eligible graduates with at least one year of officer-level banking experience can apply online from 18 August 2026 to 07 September 2026.
The recruitment includes 1,300 fresh vacancies and 1,182 backlog vacancies carried forward from earlier LBO drives. Candidates may apply for only one state, and selection is state-wise and category-wise.
This drive is aimed specifically at candidates who already hold at least one year of post-qualification experience as an officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank listed in the RBI’s Second Schedule, along with proficiency in the local language of the state they apply for.

Educational Qualification

- Educational Qualification — Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University/Institution
- Post-Qualification Experience — Minimum 1 year as an Officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank listed in the RBI’s Second Schedule
- Language Proficiency — Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the local language of the state applied for
- Preferred Certifications — IC 38, NISM Series V-A, NISM Series XXI-A, NISM Series XIII (not mandatory)
- Candidates who resigned from an officer-grade position in Bank of Baroda, or exited the Bank while on contract within the last 3 years as on the cut-off date, are not eligible to apply.
- Employees currently working in Bank of Baroda in the officer cadre or on contract basis are also not eligible to apply.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of the following stages:
- Online Test — English Language (qualifying), Banking Knowledge, General/Economic Awareness, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude — 120 marks, 120 minutes
- Group Discussion / Personal Interview — Minimum qualifying marks 60% for General category, 55% for Reserved category candidates
- Psychometric Test — As decided by the Bank
- Local Language Proficiency Test (LPT) — Waived for candidates who studied the local language at Class 10 or 12 level
