- Most Posts (Degree-eligible Departments e.g. BRO, MES, DGQA-NAVAL, DGLL) — Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering discipline; OR Diploma with prescribed years of relevant experience
- JE Telecom (Department of Telecommunications) — Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in Electrical, Electronics, Electrical Communication, Computer Science, Telecommunications, IT or Instrumentation
- Scientific Assistant (IMD) — Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Physics; OR Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Instrumentation, IT or Telecommunication Engineering
- Qualification requirements differ significantly by department. Candidates must check the exact educational qualification specified against their preferred post in the official notification PDF before applying.
- Internship, training, or research experience obtained while acquiring an educational qualification will not be counted toward any experience requirement for the post.

How to Apply Online — Step by Step
1) Visit the official SSC website: https://ssc.gov.in
2) If you are a new user, complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process: provide Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Date of Birth, Class 10 details, and Aadhaar Number, then note your Registration ID and Password.
3) Log in to the SSC portal using your OTR Registration ID and Password.
4) Click on Apply and select Junior Engineer (JE) Examination 2026 from the list of active notifications.
5) Fill in the application form carefully — personal details, educational qualifications, category, and preferred post/department.
6) Upload required documents: recent passport-size photograph, signature, and category/disability certificate where applicable.
7) Pay the application fee (₹100 for General/OBC/EWS; Nil for others) through UPI, Net Banking, or Debit/Credit Card.
8) Review the filled form carefully before final submission. Corrections are only possible during the correction window (28–30 September 2026).
9) Submit the application and download/print the confirmation page for future reference.
