Eligible candidates who have passed Class 10 can complete their One-Time Registration (OTR) from 31 August 2026 and submit the online application from 2 September 2026 to 21 September 2026 through the official GDS Online Engagement Portal. There is no written examination or interview for this recruitment — selection is based entirely on a merit list prepared from Class 10 marks.

Educational Qualification
Post — Required Qualification
- BPM / ABPM / Dak Sevak — Pass in Secondary School Examination (Class 10 / SSE) with passing marks in Mathematics and English, from a Board recognised by the Government of India / State Government / UT
- Local Language — Candidate must have studied the local language prescribed for the applicable Circle/Division at least up to Class 10 (see Annexure-III of the official notification for the state-wise list)
- Other Requirements — Knowledge of computers; knowledge of cycling; adequate means of livelihood besides the GDS allowance
- Candidates holding an equivalent qualification from a board not recognised for this purpose are not eligible to apply.
- Grades/points in the Class 10 marksheet, where applicable, must be entered as grades — not converted to marks — while filling the online application.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of the following stages:
- Stage 1 — System-generated Merit List based on marks/grades obtained in the Class 10 (SSE) examination
- Stage 2 — Document Verification for shortlisted candidates by the Divisional/Unit Head within 15 days of shortlisting
- Stage 3 — Medical Certificate submission from a Government Hospital/Dispensary/Primary Health Centre (compulsory)
- Written Exam / Interview — Not applicable — selection is entirely merit-based
How to Apply Online — Step by Step
1) Visit the official GDS Online Engagement Portal: https://indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement
2) Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) using an active mobile number and email ID; verify via OTP and note the system-generated Registration Number and password
3) Log in to the portal using your Registration Number and password
4) Click the Apply Online link under the GDS Online Engagement Schedule-II section
5) Fill in Board/Educational Details — Circle, Board name, passing year, and subject-wise marks/grades from your Class 10 marksheet
6) Select your preferred Division and give post preferences based on the local language you studied
7) Upload your recent photograph (JPG/JPEG, 30 to 100 KB, 320×400 px) and signature (JPG/JPEG, 20 to 100 KB, 300×120 px)
8) Preview the filled application carefully before final submission
9) Pay the application fee of ₹100 (if applicable) through Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI
10) Submit the application and retain the Registration Number and confirmation for future reference
