Rajasthan Safai Karmchari Recruitment 2026 — 24,752 Vacancies, Apply Online by 28 September 2026
The Department of Local Self Government (LSG), Government of Rajasthan, Jaipur, has officially released Advertisement No. 01/2026 for direct recruitment to the post of Contractual Safai Karmchari (Sanitation Worker). A total of 24,752 vacancies are being filled across 183 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the state, under the Rajasthan Contractual Hiring to Civil Posts Rules, 2022.
Eligible candidates with Rajasthan domicile can apply online from 15 August 2026 to 28 September 2026 through the SSO Rajasthan portal. This is one of the largest contractual recruitment drives announced by the Rajasthan Government this year, aimed at strengthening the Swachh Bharat Mission and municipal sanitation systems.
Unlike most government recruitment exams, this selection does not involve any written test or interview. Eligible candidates are shortlisted purely through a computerised lottery system developed by the Department of Information Technology and Communication, Rajasthan.

Educational Qualification
Post — Required Qualification
- Educational Qualification — No specific educational qualification is prescribed for the Safai Karmchari post
- Domicile Requirement — Applicant must be a bona fide resident (domicile) of Rajasthan
- Work Experience — Minimum 1 year of sanitation (safai) work experience in any Urban Local Body of Rajasthan, continuous or accumulated
- Experience Certificate — Must be issued by the concerned ULB in the prescribed proforma, after 1 August 2026 and before 28 September 2026
- Candidates must be of sound mental and physical health; a health certificate is required at the time of selection.
- Police verification will be conducted after final selection.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of the following stages:
- Stage 1 — Online Application and Document Submission (OTR plus application form)
- Stage 2 — Eligibility Verification by the concerned Urban Local Body
- Stage 3 — Computerised Lottery — category-wise and ULB-wise, conducted by the Department of Information Technology and Communication, Rajasthan
- Stage 4 — Document Verification, Medical Examination and Police Verification of lottery-selected candidates
How to Apply Online — Step by Step
1) Visit the official LSG portal: lsg.urban.rajasthan.gov.in or the SSO Rajasthan portal: sso.rajasthan.gov.in
2) Log in to SSO and select the Recruitment Portal under Citizen Apps (G2C), then click Apply Now
3) If not already registered, complete One Time Registration (OTR) — select category, disability status if applicable, and home state, then pay the OTR fee
4) Once OTR is complete, apply through the SSO portal. Details entered during OTR such as name, father’s name, date of birth and gender cannot be changed at this stage
5) Fill in all required details in the application form and upload required documents: Aadhaar or Jan Aadhaar details, 1-year sanitation experience certificate, caste or EWS or disability certificate if applicable, live photograph, and scanned signature
6) Select your preferred Urban Local Body — only one ULB may be selected
7) Review all entered details carefully before final submission
8) Submit the application and note the Application ID; a Preview is not considered a valid submission
9) Retain a printout of the submitted application for future reference and document verification
