The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the SSC CHSL 2026 Notification (Advt. No. HQ-C1102/5/2026-C-1) on 7 September 2026 on its official website ssc.gov.in. A total of 2,536 vacancies (Tentative) have been announced for Group C posts across various Ministries, Departments, and Offices of the Government of India.

The SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination 2026 is a national-level exam open to Class 12 pass candidates. Eligible candidates can submit their online applications from 7 September 2026 to 7 October 2026 through the official SSC portal.

This year, SSC has introduced sectional timing in the Tier 1 examination, reduced the answer-key objection fee to ₹50 per question, and now requires all three exam-centre preferences to fall within the same SSC region.

How to Apply Online — Step by Step

1) Visit the official SSC website: https://ssc.gov.in
2) If you are a new user, complete the One-Time Registration (OTR). Note: OTR done on the old site ssc.nic.in is not valid on the new portal.
3) Log in to the SSC portal using your OTR Registration Number and Password.
4) Click on the “Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination, 2026” application link under Live Exams.
5) Fill in the application form carefully — personal details, educational qualifications, address, category, and exam-centre preferences (all three choices must fall within the same SSC region).
6) Capture a live photograph using a webcam/mobile camera (pre-existing photographs are not accepted) and upload your scanned signature in JPEG format.
7) Pay the application fee (₹100 for General/OBC; Nil for exempted categories) through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Debit/Credit Card.
8) Review the filled form carefully before final submission.
9) Submit the application and download/print the confirmation page for future reference.
