IBPS Clerk (CSA) Recruitment 2026 — 11,403 Vacancies, Apply Online by 21 August 2026
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), an autonomous body that conducts common recruitment examinations for clerical and officer cadre posts in India’s public sector banks, has officially released the IBPS Clerk 2026 Notification on 1 August 2026 at its official website ibps.in. A total of 11,403 vacancies have been announced for the post of Customer Service Associate (CSA) — formerly known as Clerk — across 11 participating Public Sector Banks under CRP CSA-XVI.
This is the 16th edition of the IBPS Common Recruitment Process for the clerical cadre, conducted for the financial year 2027-28. Eligible graduates aged 20 to 28 years can submit their online applications from 1 August 2026 to 21 August 2026 through the official IBPS portal. Selection is based on a Preliminary Examination followed by a Main Examination, with no interview at any stage.
Candidates should note two important changes in this cycle. First, the clerical post has been officially renamed Customer Service Associate (CSA). Second, the Main Examination pattern has been revised — the total number of questions has increased from 155 to 160 (with five additional questions in Quantitative Aptitude) and the duration extended by five minutes to 125 minutes.

Nationality / Citizenship
A candidate must be one of the following:
- A citizen of India; or
- A subject of Nepal; or
- A subject of Bhutan; or
- A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India; or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar (Burma), Sri Lanka, or the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam, with the intention of permanently settling in India. Candidates in categories 2 to 5 must produce a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
Educational Qualification

- Educational Qualification — A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Government of India, or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government
- Computer Literacy — Operating and working knowledge of computer systems is mandatory (a certificate/diploma/degree in computer operations, or Computer/IT studied as a subject, is required)
- Language Proficiency — Candidates must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking and understanding the Official Language of the State/UT for which they apply
- Proof of Qualification — Candidates must possess a valid Mark-sheet or Degree Certificate as proof of being a graduate as on 01 August 2026
- Candidates must have acquired the qualifying degree on or before 01 August 2026 and must be able to specify the percentage of marks obtained in graduation while registering.
- Candidates should have a valid personal email ID and mobile number, kept active until the completion of the recruitment process.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of the following stages:
- Phase 1 — Preliminary Examination (Online, qualifying in nature)
- Phase 2 — Main Examination (Online, merit-deciding stage)
- Language Proficiency Test — Conducted after Mains for candidates who have not studied the local language at 10th/12th level (qualifying)
- Interview — There is NO interview in the IBPS Clerk selection process
- Prelims Pattern — 100 questions, 100 marks, 60 minutes. Sections – English Language, Numerical Ability, Reasoning Ability (separately timed)
- Mains Pattern (Revised) — 160 questions, 200 marks, 125 minutes. Sections – General/Financial Awareness, English Language, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude, Quantitative Aptitude
- Negative Marking — 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer
- Final Merit — Based solely on Main Examination marks

2) On the homepage, click on the CRP CSA-XVI (IBPS Clerk 2026) ‘Apply Online / Click here to Apply Online for CRP Clerks-XVI’ link.
3) Complete the New Registration by entering your Name, contact details and email ID. A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated and sent to your registered email and mobile number.
4) Log in using the Provisional Registration Number and Password, then fill in the application form with personal, educational, category and State/UT preference details.
5) Upload the required documents in the specified format and size: recent passport-size photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and a hand-written declaration.
6) Preview the complete form and verify all details carefully. After final submission, changes may only be possible during the correction window, if provided.
7) Pay the application fee online (₹850 for General/OBC/EWS; ₹175 for SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen) via Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or BHIM UPI.
8) Submit the application and download or print the confirmation page and e-receipt for future reference.
