UPSC Geo-Scientist (CGSE) 2027 Notification — 127 Vacancies, Apply Online by 22 September 2026

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination (CGSE) 2027 notification (Examination Notice No. 01/2027-GEOL) on 2 September 2026 on its official website upsc.gov.in. A total of 127 tentative vacancies have been announced for Geologist, Geophysicist, Chemist and related Scientist B / Assistant-level posts across the Geological Survey of India (GSI) and the Central Ground Water Board (CGWB).

This is one of the most-awaited scientific recruitment notifications of the year. Eligible postgraduate candidates can submit their online applications from 2 September 2026 to 22 September 2026 through the official portal upsconline.nic.in.

This notification covers the Preliminary Examination stage only. Candidates who qualify Prelims will separately be permitted to appear for the Main Examination, followed by a Personality Test for those who clear Mains.

4) Fill the Examination Specific Module for the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination, 2027 and select your stream and preferred examination centres.
5) Pay the application fee of ₹200 for General/OBC/EWS male candidates through the available online payment modes (Nil for Female/SC/ST/PwBD).
