Rajasthan High Court Stenographer Recruitment 2026 — 163 Vacancies, Apply Online by 10 August 2026
The Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur (HCRAJ), the highest court of the State of Rajasthan, has officially released the Rajasthan High Court Stenographer Recruitment 2026 notification on 17 July 2026 through its official website hcraj.nic.in. A total of 163 vacancies have been announced for Stenographer Grade-III (Hindi/English) in District Courts and Stenographer Grade-II (Hindi) in District Legal Services Authorities, including Permanent Lok Adalats, across Rajasthan.
The recruitment is being conducted as a Combined Competitive Examination 2026 under Advertisement No. RAJ.HC/Exam Cell/Subordinate Judiciary/Stenography/2026/1032 dated 17.07.2026, governed by the Rajasthan District Court Ministerial Establishment Rules, 1986 (as amended). Online applications will be accepted from 22 July 2026 (1:00 PM) to 10 August 2026 (5:00 PM), with online fee payment permitted until 11 August 2026 (5:00 PM).
Candidates who have passed the Senior Secondary Examination along with a recognised computer qualification such as RSCIT or DOEACC O Level are eligible to apply. Educational Qualification

- Academic Qualification — Senior Secondary Examination in Arts, Science or Commerce from the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education, or an equivalent examination recognised by the Government, or any higher examination
- Language Requirement — Good working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and of Rajasthani dialects
- Computer Qualification (any one) — O Level or Higher Level Certificate Course of DOEACC, Government of India
- Computer Qualification (alternative) — COPA or DPCS certificate under the National or State Council of Vocational Training Scheme
- Computer Qualification (alternative) — Diploma in Computer Science or Computer Application from a university established by law in India, or from a Government-recognised institution
- Computer Qualification (alternative) — Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering from a Government-recognised Polytechnic Institution
- Computer Qualification (alternative) — Rajasthan State Certificate Course in Information Technology (RSCIT) from Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University, Kota
- Computer Qualification (alternative) — Senior Secondary School Examination with Computer Science as an optional subject, or any equivalent or higher qualification
- Physical Fitness — The candidate must be mentally and physically fit, and must submit a fitness certificate from a Government-notified medical authority on selection
- Character Certificate — A Good Character Certificate from the head of the institution last attended, plus two character certificates not older than 6 months from two unrelated responsible persons
- Note: Reservation benefits for SC, ST, OBC, MBC and EWS categories are available only to bona fide residents of Rajasthan. Applicants of these categories from other states must apply under the General category.
- TSP area vacancies are reserved only for candidates who are bona fide residents of that Scheduled Area, and such candidates must select their own TSP district as the first preference.
- No candidate having more than two children is eligible for appointment, subject to the provisos stated in the official notification. The applicable reference date for this condition is 06 July 2010.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of the following stages:
- Stage 1 — Shorthand Test – Group A for English posts, dictation at 80 words per minute for 6 minutes, transcription and typing on computer in 50 minutes, 100 marks
- Stage 2 — Shorthand Test – Group B for Hindi posts, dictation at 70 words per minute for 6 minutes, transcription and typing on computer in 50 minutes, 100 marks
- Stage 3 — Computer Test Group C (compulsory for all) – Speed Test of 10 minutes for 50 marks and Efficiency Test of 10 minutes for 50 marks
- Qualifying Marks in Computer Test — 22.5 marks in each paper for all candidates, and 20 marks in each paper for SC, ST and PwBD candidates
- Typing Font — Kruti Dev 010 for Hindi and Calibri for English, with a minimum speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour
- Permissible Error Margin — A margin of 5 per cent mistakes is allowed in the shorthand transcription
- Merit List — Prepared on the basis of total aggregate marks obtained in the Shorthand Test and the Computer Test
- Interview — Qualifying in nature and carries no marks. It is conducted only to confirm that the candidate has no speech impediment affecting the reading of their own writing
- Tie-breaker — Higher marks in the Shorthand Test, and if still tied, the older candidate is placed higher in merit
- Document Verification — Candidature remains provisional until eligibility and documents are verified by the Rajasthan High Court
How to Apply Online — Step by Step
1) Visit the official website of the Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur at hcraj.nic.in and read the Instructions for Online Application published alongside the advertisement.
2) Open the Recruitment section and click on the Stenographer Grade-II and Grade-III Combined Competitive Examination 2026 link. The application portal will become active on 22 July 2026 at 1:00 PM.
3) Complete the new registration process to generate your User ID and Password.
4) Log in and fill the online application form with personal, academic and computer qualification details exactly as recorded in your documents.
5) Select the correct post and shorthand language (Hindi or English), and choose the applicable TSP or Non-TSP area.
6) Select up to five district judgeships in order of preference. TSP-resident candidates must compulsorily select their own TSP district as the first preference.
7) Upload the recent photograph carrying your name and the date it was taken, a photo identity document, the signed declaration, a live photo, signatures in both Hindi and English, and a scan of your left thumb impression.
8) Pay the applicable examination fee online through e-Mitra Kiosk or CSC, Net Banking, or Debit or Credit Card between 22 July 2026 (1:00 PM) and 11 August 2026 (5:00 PM).
9) Review every entry carefully before final submission, as no change is permitted once the form is finally submitted.
10) Submit the application before 10 August 2026 (5:00 PM) and save a printout of the completed form and the fee payment receipt for future reference.
