The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has officially released the UPPSC PCS 2026 Notification on 25 June 2026 on its official website uppsc.up.nic.in. Approximately 500 vacancies have been announced for various Group A and Group B Gazetted posts across the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
This is one of the most prestigious state-level civil services examinations in India. The UP Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) Examination 2026 selects candidates for coveted administrative posts including Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) / Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), and Block Development Officer (BDO). Eligible graduates can submit their online applications from 25 June 2026 to 27 July 2026 through the official UPPSC portal.

Age is calculated as on 1 July 2026. The category-wise age limits are as follows:

- Note: Candidates must possess the degree certificate or final marksheet by the last date of application (27 July 2026). Final year students awaiting results are generally not eligible at the application stage.
- UP Domicile is mandatory to claim OBC, SC, and ST reservation benefits. Candidates from other states apply under the General (Unreserved) category.
Selection Process
The selection process for UPPSC PCS 2026 consists of the following stages:
- Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Prelims) — Objective MCQ — Screening stage only. Marks NOT counted in final merit. Scheduled: 6 December 2026
- Stage 2: Main Examination (Mains) — Descriptive written exam — Merit-deciding stage (1,500 marks)
- Stage 3: Interview / Personality Test — Oral examination (100 marks). Final merit = Mains + Interview = 1,600 marks total
How to Apply Online — Step by Step
1) Visit the official UPPSC website: https://uppsc.up.nic.in
2) If you do not have an OTR number, complete the One Time Registration (OTR) process first:
- Click on “Get O.T.R. Number” on the homepage
- Provide personal details, date of birth, and contact information
- Verify via OTP on your registered mobile number
- Note your OTR number — this is the only registration identifier for all UPPSC applications
3) Log in to the Candidate Dashboard using your OTR number and password
4) Click on the UPPSC PCS 2026 Apply link under the Candidate Dashboard
5) Fill in the application form carefully — personal details, educational qualifications, address, category, and domicile status
6) Upload required documents:
- Recent passport-size photograph (as per specified dimensions and file size)
- Specimen Signature (as per specified dimensions and file size)
- Note: On UPPSC portal, photograph and signature are uploaded as a single combined image
7) Pay the application fee (General/OBC/EWS: ₹125; SC/ST: ₹65; PwD: ₹25) through online payment mode only
8) Review the filled form carefully before final submission. After submission, corrections are possible only during the Correction Window (up to 3 August 2026).
9) Submit the application and download/print the confirmation page. Keep it for future reference.
